Gene Wagner

Obituary

Gene Dale Wagner was born on February 21, 1954, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of Dale and Dorothy (Blum) Wagner. Gene was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, Minnesota. Gene was also baptized as an adult at Riverside Church in Hutchinson. He received his education in Stewart, and was a graduate of the Stewart High School Class of 1972. Gene furthered his education at the Willmar Vocational College for two years and then the Hutchinson Vocational College for two years.

On June 12, 1981, Gene was united in marriage to Pamela Neiger at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Gene and Pamela resided in Hutchinson and have been long term residents since 1981. They shared 36 years of marriage.

Gene was the owner of DeLaVelle Milking Systems in Hutchinson. He was then employed as a Sales Representative for several companies for many years and also drove semi for a few years. Gene was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson where he loved to help Usher. He was also a member of the Gas Holes Car Club in Hutchinson which he loved.

Gene loved to travel. He had a special interest in guns, rifles, and pistols and was currently working on receiving his conceal and carry. Gene also had a special interest in vintage cars and restored his own; 1959 Chevrolet Impala and the 1974 Corvette Stingray. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Gene passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at his home in Hutchinson, at the age of 63 years.

Gene is preceded in death by his Parents, Dale and Dorothy Wagner; and Father-In-Law, Nick Neiger; Brother-In-Law, Brad Horstmann; Cousin Tony Blum and Cousin Misty Blum.
