Obituary
Geneva Doris (Draeger) Loverude was born October 27, 1933, to Albert and Martha (Kelm) Draeger in rural Gibbon, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Fernando, Minnesota. She attended country school and worked at home on the farm. As a teenager she worked for her sister and brother-in-law, Vernett and Walter Mueffelmann on their farm in rural Gaylord. Geneva was united in marriage to Lester Loverude on September 24, 1954. They farmed and raised six children in rural Hector. Geneva and Lester shared 55 years of marriage when Lester passed away on July 17, 2009.
Geneva and Lester moved to Fairfax in 1998. In their retirement, they enjoyed many rounds of golf together at the Mayflower. Geneva also enjoyed making quilts and other activities at church. She looked forward to socializing at the various local coffee shops in Fairfax. Geneva loved music and dancing. She was self-taught on the piano and played all familiar hymns by ear. Playing a polka or waltz on the button accordion was another pastime she learned as a child. She will be remembered as a patient grandmother who loved to play any and all games with her grandchildren.
The family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Countryview in Fairfax and Southview in Gibbon where she resided the past few years.

Walt Bielke says
As a 8 year old I was the Ring-bearer at their wedding and so anxious about dropping and loosing their wedding rings. We’ve stayed in touch over all these years and Vicki and I went out to visit them on the farm a few years ago. A wonderful couple.
Rest in Peace Less and Geneva
