Gerald Arthur Ahlbrecht, age 72, of rural Hector, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at the RC Hospital in Olivia, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 11, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector.
Interment will be held in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. Military Honors will be presented by the Carl O. Potter American Legion Post 135 of Hector.
Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2015, for one hour prior to the service at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector.
Obituary
Gerald Arthur Ahlbrecht was born on November 4, 1942, in Martinsburg Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Arthur and Delores (Lemke) Ahlbrecht. Gerald was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. He received his education in Buffalo Lake, and was a graduate of the Buffalo Lake High School Class of 1960.
Gerald entered active military service in the United States Army on November 16, 1965, at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, and served his country during the Vietnam War. He received an Honorable Discharge on October 28, 1968, at Fort Dix in New Jersey.
Gerald resided and farmed in rural Hector, Minnesota. A life-time farmer, he retired in 1993.
Gerald enjoyed traveling to different states, craft work, hunting and going to auction sales. He enjoyed farming with his dad and going to threshing shows. He especially enjoyed going to coffee with his special friend Elsie and his other friends.
Gerald passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at the RC Hospital in Olivia, Minnesota, at the age of 72 years.

Sister, Barbara Schwab and her husband, Bill of Fairfax, MN;
Nieces and Nephews, Jackie Reiner, William, David and Theodore Ahlbrecht, Daniel, Randy, Aaron, Craig Nathan Schwab, Sara Wendt;
Special Friend, Elsie Heutinck of Hector, MN;
Many Great Nieces and Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gerald is preceded in death by his Parents, Arthur and Delores Ahlbrecht; Sister, Mary Ann Luthens.
