Obituary

Gerald Francis “Jerry” Mayer was born on October 4, 1943, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Roman and Dorothy (Horton) Mayer. Jerry received his education in Glencoe, Minnesota, graduating from Glencoe High School in 1961. He entered active military service in the United States Army on June 20, 1961. Jerry received an Honorable Discharge on June 5, 1964.

Jerry and Margaret “Marge” Rodel were married on July 2, 1966. Jerry and Marge made their home in Glencoe. Jerry owned and operated Jerry’s Body Shop and Car Wash in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, for 35 years.

Jerry is survived by his:
Wife, Marge Mayer of Glencoe, MN;
Children, Lisa Vart and her husband, Gordon, of Chaska, MN, and their sons, Mason & Aden,
Dan Mayer and Teri Raja, of Hobart, WA,
Jill Skarsten and her husband, Brian, of New Hope, MN, and their daughter, Cassidy
and step son, Dan,
Todd Mayer and his wife, Angie, of Dayton, MN, and their daughters, Brenna & Ally;
Siblings, Carol, Kathy and Tom;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Dorothy Mayer; grandson, Jonathon Michael Mayer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.  Donations will be given to Jerry's favorite charities.
