Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Anthony Worm was born on March 16, 1933, to Francis “Frank” and Rosella (Haerden) Worm at their farm in rural Chaska, Carver County, Minnesota. Jerry was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the catholic faith as a youth, both at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska, Minnesota. He attended Guardian Angels Catholic School from grade school through the 12th grade. He graduated in 1951.
Gerald enlisted with the United States Army on June 10, 1953. He was stationed in Germany for two years. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge on April 20, 1955. He was affiliated with the American Legion in Chaska.
Upon returning from Germany, he worked for Watkins Products as a salesman. He then started a can milk route, which turned into a bulk milk route. He also crop farmed with his brother, Robert Worm, and from 1982 to 1995, he farmed with his son, Gregg, who then took over and continues to run the farm today.
Jerry met the love of his life, Doris Borka, at a party in the woods. They were married on September 14, 1957, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne, Minnesota. They shared over 68 years of marriage. The union was blessed with 6 children. In 1971, the couple moved to a dairy farm in rural Norwood, Minnesota. He sold his milk route that year.
Jerry loved collecting old Ford tractors, trucks, and cars. His pride and joy was the 1955 Ford Fairlane, which he still has. He loved dancing with his wife to old-time music; they spent many Sunday afternoons at local ballrooms dancing.
Jerry passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, at the age of 93 years, 1 month, and 16 days. Blessed be his memory.
