Service Information
Gloria Walter, age 85, of Cosmos, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, at Meeker Manor in Litchfield.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017, for one hour prior to the service, all at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos.
Obituary
Gloria Anna Kathryn Walter was born August 17, 1932, in Brookfield Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the daughter of Barney and Leona (Laffen) Hauer. She was baptized on October 9, 1932 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector, and confirmed in her faith there on June 9, 1946. Gloria grew up in the Hector area and received her education at the Hector High School. She lived on the farm in Osceola Township and Cosmos before moving onto her son Mike’s farm in Corvuso.
Along with being a busy mother of five children, Gloria also worked throughout the years. She had been employed by Fingerhut and Animal Fair, and as a waitress at The Broaster in Bird Island and the Hutch Café in Hutchinson.
Gloria was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, and crocheted many sweaters and caps for Missions care kits. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, puzzles, bird watching, and gardening. She will be lovingly remembered for her unconditional love for her family.
On Monday morning, December 18, 2017, Gloria passed away at Meeker Manner in Litchfield, having reached the age of 85 years. Blessed be her memory.

Dale Walter and his wife, Jolene, of Redwood Falls, MN,
Jim Walter and his wife, Julie, of Pelican Rapids, MN;
19 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren;
Sister, Kathy Hanson, of Cut Bank, Montana;
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her Parents, Barney and Leona Hauer, and her Brother, Jerry Hauer.
