Gloria M. Paul, age 80, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 2:00-5:00 P.M. and will continue one hour prior to the service, all at Grace Lutheran Church.
Obituary
Gloria Marie Paul was born on September 2, 1941, in Cokato, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Max and Marion (Weege) Mahlstedt. Gloria was baptized as an infant on September 28, 1941, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, Minnesota, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on June 12, 1955, at Stockholm Lutheran Church, rural Cokato, by Rev. Lundeen. She received her education at North Grass Lake School and was a graduate with the Cokato High School class of 1959. Gloria furthered her education and received her degree as a Registered Medical Assistant at the P.B.I. Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota
On September 30, 1961, Gloria was united in marriage to Richard Paul at Stockholm Lutheran Church in rural Cokato. This marriage was blessed with four children, Janell, Jeffrey, Joni, and Jacalyn. Gloria and Richard resided in Hutchinson for 56 years. They shared 60 years of marriage.
Gloria was employed by the Shell Oil Company in Minneapolis until her marriage to Richard. She and Richard farmed by Cedar Mills, Minnesota, until they moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota in 1965. Gloria was employed by Pizza Garten in Hutchinson and Green Giant in Glencoe until 1977, when she began her career in food service with the Hutchinson Public Schools. She taught food service classes and was a member of the Minnesota Food Service Association, where she held many offices and gave seminars on Lunch Power in 13 states along with her director. Gloria retired on December 25, 1998.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Gloria’s children and grandchildren were very special to her. She was involved in her children’s activities by being a 4H Leader, Sunday school teacher and “taxi-cab” driver for her children. She also enjoyed spending time at the cabin, crocheting, gardening and canning the produce, and making wine. In Gloria’s later years, she developed an interest in genealogy of her parent’s families.
Gloria passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson at the age of 80 years.

Gloria is preceded in death by her Parents, Max and Marion Mahlstedt; Sisters, Marvel Mahlstedt and Joyce Tokkesdal and her husband, Rudy; Niece, Doris Tokkesdal; Great-nephew, Jarod VanRueden; Father-in-law, Clarence Paul; Mother-in-law, Dorothea Paul; Brother-in-law, Jerry Rogers; Sisters-in-law, Karen Paul and Connie Paul; Nephews-in-law, Andrew Paul and James Kite.
