Gordon H. Grimm

Obituary

Gordon Henry Grimm was born on August 11, 1945, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Elmer and Gladys (Dose) Grimm. Gordon was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at Frieden’s United Church of Christ (County Line) in rural Norwood Young America, Minnesota. He received his education in Glencoe and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School class of 1963. Gordon furthered his education at the University of Minnesota and received his Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Business.

On June 30, 1966, Gordon entered active military service in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Star, Good Conduct Medal, and the Expert Rifle Badge, M-14. Gordon was Honorably Discharged on July 15, 1969, having achieved the rank of Corporal.

Gordon was a lifelong farmer. He farmed alongside his father until his passing in 1973, then continued working with his mother, operating the dairy farm together. They continued the dairy operation until the mid-1990s, and Gordon remained active in crop farming until 2021, when he began renting the land to a neighbor. But, as they say, farmers never truly retire.

Gordon loved farming and everything that came with it. He also enjoyed working on computers and cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

Gordon passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 80 years. Blessed be his memory.

Brothers, Dennis Grimm and his wife, Barbara of Lompoc, CA,
                Ivan Grimm and his wife, Sharon of Wayzata, MN,
                Nolan Grimm and his wife, Deb of Annandale, MN;
Sister-in-law, Marcia Grimm of Penacook, NH;
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gordon was preceded in death by his Parents, Elmer and Gladys Grimm; Brothers, Randall Grimm and his wife, Bethany, and Leslie Grimm.
