Service Information
Guy K. Burnison, age 64, of rural Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at his home.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, with interment held at a later date in Rest Haven Cemetery in Alpena, South Dakota.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
Obituary
Guy Kelly Burnison was born on September 29, 1959, Robbinsdale, Minnesota. He was the son of Robert and Doris (Groenhoff) Burnison. Guy was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He received his education in Buffalo, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Buffalo High School Class of 1978. Guy furthered his education at Anoka Votek College in 1981. Guy also received certification at the Metals Engineering Institute in 1987.
Guy grew up in Buffalo and had moved to Hutchinson in 1986, where he resided. He was married to Diane Gardner in 1986. They were married for 13 years and blessed with two beautiful children, Grant and Shanna.
Guy was employed as a CNC Machinist for 3M. He retired in 2019. Guy was a lifetime member of the NRA, Gopher Campfire, and Gopher Wheeler’s Club. Guy enjoyed shooting his guns, eating food with his loved ones, and spending time at his homestead.
Guy enjoyed four-wheeling in “Big Red” and on his Husqvarna dirt bike. He enjoyed taking his boat out and especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. Guy enjoyed watching television shows such as Star Trek, Big Bang Theory, The Price is Right, and cooking shows on Sunday morning as well as church.
Guy passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at his home in rural Hutchinson, at the age of 64 years.

Son, Grant Burnison and his fiancée, Jamie of Hutchinson, MN;
Daughter, Shanna Burnison and her significant other, Travis of Hutchinson, MN;
Grandchildren, Danielle, Dakota (Josephine), Victoria, Grant Jr., Genevieve, Brantlee;
Step-grandchildren, Hayden, Garett, Eithen, Jeremiah, Rylie;
Brother, Robin Burnison and his wife, Sandy of Madison, SD;
Brother, Jon Burnison and his wife, Becky of Medina, MN;
Brother, Scott Burnison and his wife, Susan of Watertown, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Guy is preceded in death by his Parents, Robert and Doris Burnison; Half-brother, Bob Burnison: Half-sister, Kathy Uecker.

Sending my sympathy to your family during this time. I worked with Guy (Burni) for many years at 3M in the tool shop! Occasionally I’d run into him at the Cenex on Adams, which of course, we would spend several minutes catching up from the last time we’d run into one another.
