Harold Streseman, age 83, of Brownton, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018, 11:00 A.M., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton with interment in the church cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., ALL AT CHURCH.
Obituary
Harold Edmund Streseman was born on November 17, 1934, in Penn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. He was the son of Robert and Stella (Zander) Streseman. Harold was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. He received his education in Stewart, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Stewart High School Class of 1952.
Harold entered active military service in the United States Air Force on March 17, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and served his country during the Korean and Vietnam Wars where he received a National Defense Medal, United Nations Medal, Korean Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 16, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas, and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Upon discharge from the United States Air Force, Harold attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in 1962.
Harold was employed by 3M in Hutchinson where he traveled extensively. He worked at 3M plants in California, New Jersey and St. Paul, Minnesota. He also traveled overseas for 3M. He retired from the Hutchinson plant in 1991 and spent the remainder of his life on the family farm in Brownton.
Harold was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton serving as the treasurer and putting together power point presentations for the church. He was also a member of the Brownton American Legion Post #143.
Harold took great pride in the large vegetable and flower gardens he planted. He started many of the plants from seed in his green house. He also enjoyed cooking and baking. His baked goodies that he brought to Wednesday morning Bible Study were always popular. He loved hosting family gatherings at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Harold also made weekly visits to Jackpot Junction in Morton, Minnesota, which he enjoyed greatly.
Harold was just recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, at the age of 83 years. Blessed be his memory.

Beloved Dog, Abby;
Sister-In-Law, Marilyn Streseman of Penn Valley, CA;
Several generations of Nieces and Nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Harold is preceded in death by his: Parents, Robert and Stella Streseman; Brothers, William Streseman, Vernon Streseman, Howard Streseman, LeRoy “Jack” Streseman, and Donald “Jim” Streseman; Sisters, Mildred Streseman, Ruth Weispfenning, Marion Kirchoff, Clara Streseman, Margaret “Marge” Fegley, Jeanette Abram, and June Small; Brothers-In-Law, Robert Abram, Lester Kirchoff, George Small, Walt Weispfenning and Merle Fegley.
