Harris Buboltz, age 92, of Hutchinson, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014, at his home in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake.
Interment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Buffalo Lake.
Military Honors will be provided by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Buffalo Lake.
Memorials are requested to Allina Health Hospice, and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake
Obituary
Harris Buboltz was born March 11, 1922, in Martinsburg Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the son of Helmuth and Ella (Berger) Buboltz. On April 2, 1922, Harris was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Wellington, grew up in Martinsburg Township, and attended parochial school in Wellington Township. Harris served his country in the United States Army from 1944 – 1946 during World War II.
Harris was united in marriage to Betty Havemeier on May 31, 1949, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Courtland, Minnesota. To this union, two children were born, son Jerry Buboltz of Hector, Minnesota, and daughter Patti Heidemann of North Mankato, Minnesota. Harris farmed in Martinsburg Township until 1979 when he retired. Harris and Betty moved to Hector, and in 2000, moved to a townhouse in Hutchinson.
Harris enjoyed his farming, and after retirement, he loved going out to help Jerry with farm work. His hobbies were fishing and his love of growing flowers. He loved being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he had a smile and laugh that was contagious!
Late Saturday evening, October 25, 2014, Harris passed away at his home in Hutchinson, having reached the age of 92 years, 7 months, 14 days. Blessed be his memory.
Harris is survived by his wife, Betty, of Hutchinson, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage;
Son Jerry Buboltz and his wife Joyce of Hector; Daughter Patti Heidemann and her husband Mark of North Mankato;
five Grandchildren: Brian (Abby), Kristin (Jeff), Jennifer (Tim), Phillip (Sylvia), and Deron;
five Great-Grandchildren: Carter, Emily, Cole, Presley, and Charlie;
Brother Veirl Buboltz of Hector;
Sister-in-law VaLoris Buboltz of Buffalo Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Harris was preceded in death by his Parents, Helmuth and Ella Buboltz; brothers: Eldon, Orris, and Harlan Buboltz; sister Iona Gruenhagen; brother-in-law Henry Gruenhagen; sisters-in-law Adeline Buboltz and LaVonne Buboltz; and niece Cindy Buboltz.
Harris was a member of the Buffalo Lake Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, and his Bible Verse for confirmation was Luke 11 verse 9: And I tell you, ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
