Harris R. Stockman

Obituary

Harris Ralph Stockman was born November 10, 1941, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Alfred and Anne (Olson) Stockman.  Harris was baptized and later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato, Minnesota. Harris received his elementary education in Plato and graduated with the Glencoe High School class of 1960.

On February 23, 1960, Harris was united in marriage to Barbara Feltmann. The couple resided in Plato. They were blessed with 6 children; Gary, Brad, Jody, Rick, James, and Shelley. Harris and Barbara shared 34 years together until Barbara passed away on August 12, 1992. After Barbara’s passing, Harris moved to Pine River, Minnesota.

Harris was a farmer in Plato. He worked in construction locally for a number of years as well. He later owned and operated “Bar H” in Plato. Harris also drove truck with his sons at Stockman Transfer. When living in Plato, Harris was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and served on the church council for several years.

Harris enjoyed watching all Minnesota sports teams play, he especially loved watching the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and deer hunting. He loved to tend to his gardens, and on Sundays after church he enjoyed watching All-Star Wrestling. He truly cherished the time he spent with family and friends. Harris was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was truly loved and will be greatly missed by his family.

Harris passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 82.

Brother-in-law, Bruce Feltmann and his wife, Teresa, of Renton, WA;

Harris was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Alfred and Anne Stockman; Wife, Barbara Stockman; Brothers, Orlin “Pete” (Marlys) Stockman, Richard Stockman, and Howard Stockman; Sister, Ruth (Herbert) Brelje; Son-in-law, Mike Miller.
