Hilma Flynn, age 95, of Hamburg, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska, Minnesota.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota, with private interment at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 9:30-11:00 A.M., 1-1/2 hours prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Hilma Helene (Stoeckmann) Flynn was born on March 25, 1921, near Hamburg, Minnesota. She was the daughter of August and Martha (Eggers) Stoeckmann. Hilma was baptized as an infant on April 3, 1921, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 14, 1935, both by Rev. H. Boumann at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 37:37. Hilma attended Emanuel Lutheran Church parochial school in Hamburg, Minnesota, through the 8th grade and then graduated from Glencoe High School in Glencoe, Minnesota, with the Class of 1939.
On July 10, 1941, Hilma was united in marriage to Gilbert E. Flynn. Hilma and Gilbert made their home in Hamburg. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Terrence, Laurel, Maureen, Thomas, Kimberly and Michele. Hilma and Gilbert shared over 30 years of marriage, until Gilbert passed away on July 13, 1971.
Hilma farmed with Gilbert until he entered the service during World War II. During that time frame, Hilma worked at Munsingwear and Greyhound until the war ended. After the war, they continued to farm near Hamburg. Hilma also worked at Tonka Toys and the Young America Corporation. She was a member at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg.
Hilma enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, flowers and watching the birds. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Hilma passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska, Minnesota, at the age of 95 years, 11 months and 18 days. Blessed be her memory.

Great Grandchildren, Eric Schauer, Mya Stender, Abigail Stender, Taylor Pelzel, Jordan Pelzel, Wyatt Pelzel, Cass Mayerle, Wes Mayerle, Whitney Cebulla, Kelsey Cebulla, Owen Anderson, Camdyn Anderson;
