James Dale Boll

Obituary

James Dale Boll was born on November 7, 1924, in Scribner, Nebraska. He was the son of James and Emma (Low) Boll. James was baptized as an infant on December 21, 1924, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Lutheran Faith Bluffs Church near Aimes, Nebraska.  He received his education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1942.

On August 15, 1948, James was united in marriage to Illa Pockrandt by Reverend Happel at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three children, James, Penny, and Dan. James and Illa resided in Hutchinson, and later moved to the Pines. James and Illa shared 52 years of marriage until Illa passed away on January 21, 2011.

James was a farmer and retired in 1992. James was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.

James enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, and traveling. His favorite place to travel was northern Minnesota. He had special interests for welding and reading mystery and western books. Some of his hobbies included cooking maple syrup and fabricating, tinkering and building in the shop. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

James passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 92 years.

Grandchildren, Julie Ashbaugh, Jeremy Powell and his wife, Tami, Jessemy
Jungman and her husband, Robert, Angela Sharp and her husband, Brad, BreAnn Neiger, and Gwen Boll;
Nine Great-Grandchildren;
Sister-In-Law, Betty Boll of Cosmos, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

James is preceded in death by his Parents, James and Emma (Low) Boll; Son, James Boll; Spouse, Illa (Pockrandt) Boll; Siblings, Edith Herbolsheimer, Rickie Peterson, Earl Boll, Roy Boll, Glen Boll, Clarence Boll, Lloyd Boll, and Melvin Boll.
