James Dean Berge

Obituary

James Dean Berge was born on December 14, 1957, in Tucson, Arizona. He was the son of Irvin “Bud” and Norma (Helder) Berge.  James was baptized as an infant at the Windom Evangelical Lutheran Church in Windom, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, Minnesota. James graduated from Raymond High School in Raymond, Minnesota in 1976.

On May 5, 1984, James was united in marriage to Dawn Rowell at the Waconia Moravian Church in Waconia, Minnesota. James and Dawn made their home in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, until May of 2022 when they both retired and moved to Hill City, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Jeremi and Nicole. James and Dawn shared over 39 years of marriage.

James was a truck driver for many years, working for various companies.

James loved spending time outdoors; riding motorcycle, 4-wheeling, and fishing. He enjoyed traveling and spending time at their cabin. He enjoyed playing pool and woodworking was something he had a knack for. James truly cherished the time he spent with his family, grandchildren, and friends.

James passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota, at the age of 65.
