James Fahey, age 91, of Fairfax passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 27, 2018, 10:30 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018, from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax. There will be a Prayer Service at 4:00 P.M. on Friday. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Obituary
James Edward Fahey was born on July 13, 1926, in Wellington Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of James and Eleanor (Kachelmaier) Fahey. James was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax. He received his education at country school in Wellington Township.
On June 7, 1949, James was united in marriage to Evelyn “Pat” Paa in Fairfax, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Wellington Township. They were blessed with seven children. James and Pat shared 68 years of marriage. He was a kind and gentle man that loved his family very much. James did surveying for Jerome Fahey Tiling for many years and loved visiting with all the farmers. He loved the land.
James was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax.
James enjoyed gardening, riding his golf cart around the farm, and farming. He married the love of his life, Pat, and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When he needed assistance with his daily care, James became a resident of the Fairfax Community Home and passed away there on Monday, January 22, 2018, at the age of 91 years. Blessed be his memory.

James was preceded in death by his Parents, James and Eleanor Fahey; Sister, Elaine Fahey in infancy; Brother, Jerome (Ada) Fahey.
