Janelle A. Birkholz, age 85, of Winsted, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with interment following the service at the church cemetery.
Gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials Preferred St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie or American Parkinson's Disease Association.
Janelle Arlene (Perbix) Birkholz was born on September 7, 1937, in rural Hamburg, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Raymond and Ella Perbix. She was baptized, confirmed, and joined in marriage all at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ by Rev. O.J. Vriesen in Hamburg.
Janelle attended District 41 for her early schooling. She graduated from Central High School, Class of 1955. Her desire to further her education resulted in attending Macalester College and graduating from Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing as an R.N. in 1958. On October 4, 1958, Janelle was united in marriage to Arvin Birkholz of Lester Prairie. God blessed their marriage with a son, Barry, and a daughter, Tara Fay.
Janelle was employed as an R.N. at Glencoe (Hospital) Regional Health Center for over 40 years. She was dedicated to her vocation of helping, caring for, and serving the patient and their families. Upon retirement in 2000, Arvin and Janelle moved to Winsted to a townhouse. A lake home in Emily, MN, was purchased and many hours were spent enlarging it and decorating it. Over the years Janelle enjoyed playing cards, dancing, fishing, shopping, reading and entertaining. She was a dear friend to many.
Janelle was survived by her daughter, Tara Fay Schneewind and her husband, Bruce; Twin Sister, Ornelle Jorgensen; Sister, RaNaye Miller and her husband, LeRoy; Many other relatives and friends.
Janelle was preceded in death by her Parents, Raymond and Ella Perbix; Husband, Arvin; Son, Barry.
