Janice Hanson, age 80, of Hutchinson passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Ecumen Oaks in Hutchinson.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Obituary
Janice Mae Hanson was born on February 21, 1937, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Alf and Sarah (Field) Miller. Janice was confirmed in her faith as a youth at Hutchinson United Vineyard Methodist Church. She received her education in Hutchinson and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1955.
Janice was a loving mother and homemaker. She was blessed with two children, Jeffrey and Joel. Janice resided in Hutchinson.
Janice was a member of Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron, a member and past president of the McLeod County United Way, and a member of the McLeod County Republican Women.
Janice loved to fly and was the first woman to hold a pilot’s license at the Hutchinson Airport. She enjoyed traveling; her favorite places to visit were Africa, Disney World, and anywhere her grandchildren resided. Janice also enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and sitting by the lakeshore. She especially cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Janice passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at the Ecumen Oaks in Hutchinson, Minnesota at the age of 80 years.

Sons, Jeffrey George and his wife Kimberly of Atlanta, GA
Joel Hanson and his wife Monica of Syracuse, UT;
Granddaughter, Skye Hanson;
Grandson, Hunter Hanson;
Step-Granddaughter, Danielle Kingdon;
Brother-In-Law, Bruce Broderius, of Greeley, CO;
Nieces, Nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Janice is preceded in death by her Parents, Alf and Sarah Miller; Sister, Shirley Borderius; Sister-In-Law, Jane Miller and Brother S. Jack Miller.
