Janice M. Phillips

Obituary

Janice Mae Phillips was born on August 1, 1937, in New Ulm, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Marvin and Luverne Wendorff. Janice was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hector, Minnesota. Janice received her education in Hector, and was a graduate of the Hector High School Class of 1955.

On July 14, 1957, Janice was united in marriage to Larry Phillips at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Steven and Connie. Janice and Larry resided in Redwoods Falls, Minnesota and later made their home in Hutchinson in 1967. They shared 68 years of marriage.

Janice devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a loving wife, creating a warm and caring home for those she cherished. She enjoyed baking and making desserts from scratch, which her family ate with pleasure. Janice was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, where she shared her faith by teaching Sunday school. She also found great joy in serving others through Meals on Wheels.

Janice enjoyed flowers and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Janice also had a deep love for reading and always had a book she was enjoying.

Janice passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Harmony River Living Center, at the age of 88 years.

Children, Steven Phillips and his wife, Susan, of St. Louis, MO,
                Connie Skuza of Cokato, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
