Obituary
Jean Delphia (Howatt) Jackson was born on January 4, 1926, in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. She was the daughter of Harvey and Delphia (Steeves) Howatt. Jean was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith. She received her high school education in Canada and attended college for two years in Canada.
Jean was united in marriage to Marvin “Mike” Jackson in Memphis, Tennessee. After their marriage, the couple resided in Tennessee, Georgia and Texas and they spent their golden years in Minnesota, moving to Winthrop in 1998. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Jean was employed as a cook at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Society and also worked at the Hardware Store in Winthrop, retiring in 1999. Jean and Mike shared 53 years of marriage before Mike passed away on March 19, 2012.
Jean was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop.
Jean enjoyed raising her children, loved to dance, enjoyed planting flowers every spring and loved to yodel for anyone who asked her to. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
