Obituary
Jeanette Mary (Olson) Lindberg was born on April 2, 1951, to Ardis (Anderson) and Phillip "Grant" Olson in Dawson, Minnesota. She grew up in Canby, Minnesota, with her seven sisters and one brother, forming sibling bonds to last a lifetime. Jeanette was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, graduated from Canby High School and was a candy striper at the hospital throughout her teen years, showing early signs of the compassionate caregiver she would become.
Jeanette married Gerald "Jerry" Lindberg on August 8, 1970, and they were blessed with two daughters, Beth and Sara, whom she cherished with all her heart. Jeanette's dedication to helping others led her to graduate nursing school, working as an LPN first at Methodist Hospital, and later at Canby Community Hospital and Wiener Memorial Hospital in Marshall, Minnesota. She went back to nursing school, earning her RN degree, and then worked in the Emergency Room in Marshall, where she continued to make a difference in countless lives. She and Jerry moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she worked at Sanford Health before joining the eye surgery team at Ophthalmology LTD, until she retired from a long, fulfilling career in health care.
Jeanette and Jerry enjoyed many years of camping with their girls, family, and friends, creating memories filled with laughter. They loved vacationing at the ocean and going to Disney World. In later years, Jerry and Jeanette enjoyed traveling together to the Dominican Republic, Arizona, Washington DC, Seattle, California wine country, Florida, and Cozumel, Mexico. Jeanette was an enthusiastic Minnesota Twins fan, rarely missing a game and traveling to Fort Myers training camp several times. She was an avid reader and enjoyed many years with friends in several book clubs. Jeanette was an amazing cook with a legendary touch in the kitchen, always creating delicious dishes and hosting family dinners. She loved tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, adding her own fresh vegetables and herbs into her cooking. Jeanette loved spending time with her grandchildren playing games, doing projects, and digging in the garden.
Blessed be her memory.

My deepest sympathy to Jerry and family. I have many memories of Jeanette (Jet) while growing up together in Canby. She had a great spirit about her and the best laugh! My thoughts are with you

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Jeanette. I had the Honor of caring for her when I worked at Harmony River. I looked forward to seeing her, her smile, her calm manor and talking about recipes. May she now rest in Jesus arms. My condolences to the family.

“Jet’s” next youngest sister, Jan, was one of my best friends all the way through elementary and high school so I always looked up to Jet. Her nickname suited her; I remember her as being bold, determined, very self-aware and confident, maybe a bit daring. Jerry seemed like Prince Charming. I did lots of overnights at the Olson home – there was always room for one more at the table. The older girls had lots of responsibility for the younger ones. It flowed smoothly! Rest in Peace, Jet.

It’s hard to think of anything but so much fun growing up with Jet.
All the slumber parties we attended, walking to her house since it was just close enough.
She was so very special and from reading of her life, she was to one and all.
Once again, God gets the good one.
Heaven has a new angel
