Jerome "Sonny" Farenbaugh Jr., age 86, of Hutchinson, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 11:15 A.M. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 7, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 8:00-9:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at Church.
Parish Prayers will be held Monday, May 8, 2018, 7:30 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel.
Obituary
Jerome “Sonny” Nicholas Farenbaugh Jr. was born on November 25, 1931, in Bird Island, Minnesota. He was the son of Jerome and Katherine (Fank) Farenbaugh. He was educated at various rural “country” schools in Renville County.
On May 12, 1954, Sonny was united in marriage to Mary Jane Hettver at St Anastasia Church in Hutchinson Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with five children, LuAnn, Cynthia, Richard, Carla, and Robert. Sonny and Mary resided in Biscay Minnesota after marriage, moved to Arizona in 1986, and later returned to Minnesota in 2007. They shared 46 years of marriage together until Mary passed away on October 11, 2000.
Sonny was a farmer in rural Biscay and also owned a landscaping/contracting business in Arizona until he retired in 1995. Sonny was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.
Sonny was a long-time hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed working with the earth with gardening. Sonny also took pleasure in playing cards, shaking dice, reading, watching western movies, and telling stories. Sonny especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
When Sonny needed assistance with his daily care, he became a resident at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson on May 2, 2016. He passed away there on May 1, 2018, at the age of 86 years.
