Jill L. Westphal, age 54, of Preston Lake Township, rural Stewart, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her residence.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, Minnesota, with interment in the Knoepke-Brown Cemetery in Grafton Township, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the church.
Obituary
Jill Lavira Westphal was born on December 4, 1969, in Olivia, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Stanley and Lavira (Binger) Westphal. Jill was baptized as an infant on January 4, 1970, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 21, 1985, at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. She received her education in Buffalo Lake, and was a graduate of the Buffalo Lake/Hector High School Class of 1988.
Jill resided in Preston Lake Township, rural Stewart, on the family farmstead. She enjoyed milking dairy cows and helping out on the farm wherever she could and continued to do so until the day she passed away.
Jill was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart. She was also a Renville County Dairy Association Board Member. Jill was the Renville County Dairy Princess in 1988 and 1992. She later became the Renville County Dairy Princess Coordinator. Jill was an active and dedicated member of the 4H program.
Jill loved gardening and working with flowers. She cherished being involved with her church’s Sunday School Program, teaching Sunday School from the time she was 15 until present day. Jill was the Sunday School Superintendent for the past 20 years. County and State Fair season was her favorite time of the year. Jill loved serving malts at the ADA Malt Stand. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Jill passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her home, at the age of 54 years.

Weston Westphal of Stewart, MN, and his special friend, Kayloni Schwarzrock of Buffalo Lake, MN;
Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
Jill is preceded in death by her Parents, Stanley and Lavira Westphal; Grandparents, Albert and Rose Westphal, and Gustav and Elvira Binger.

Ugh, I cant believe shes gone!
No more rides together to visit friends, milk, prepping the food at church softball, tea parties, gifts of tulips in the spring, sweet birthday and christmas gifts, picking apples together, cow and calf advice,
Jill was Bright, smart, cheerful, positive. willing to help, hardworking, devoted, faithful, honest, loyal, generous, trustworthy, beautiful inside and out..the list goes on… My heart aches knowing you she is not here anymore.
