Joann M. Streeter, age 91, of Hector, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Prairie View of Hector.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, Minnesota, with interment in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Hector.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Joann Marie Prellwitz was born on March 15, 1931, in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. She was the daughter of August Joseph and Mary Frances (Hecimovich) Prellwitz. Joann was one of five children: August Gordon Prellwitz, Joann Marie (Prellwitz) Streeter, Richard Allen Prellwitz, Lorraine Marion (Prellwitz) Hasser-Rote, and Phyllis Mary Arlene (Prellwitz) Hubert. She received her education in Buffalo Lake, Class of 1950.
On March 23, 1950, Joann was united in marriage to Lloyd Luverne Streeter at St. John’s Catholic Church in the Hector Parish House. This marriage was blessed with 13 children, Diane Lynn, Donald Wayne, Mark Allan, Kevin Michael, James Galen, Jane Marie, Debra Jean, Steven Kim, Curtis Paul, Susan Kay, David Keith, Nancy Joann, and Daniel John. Joann celebrated baptism, holy communion, confirmation, marriage, and was a devoted Catholic. Joann and Lloyd lived in Milroy, Minnesota and Redwood Falls, Minnesota, prior to returning to Hector, Minnesota, at the VanderVoort farm. Joann and Lloyd shared 52 years of marriage prior to the passing of Lloyd in 2002.
Joann worked at Green Giant for several summers prior to working at Hector Public Schools from 1976-1999 as a custodian until she was 68 years old. She enjoyed simple pleasures of dining with friends, attending community social events, and visiting with neighbors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Joann passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Prairie View of Hector, at the age of 91 years.

Joann is survived by 12 of her children and their spouses; 26 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Joann is preceded in death by her Parents, August and Mary Prellwitz; Husband, Lloyd Streeter; Son, Mark Streeter; Brother, August Prellwitz; Parents-in-law, Maurice and Agnes Streeter; Brothers-in-law, Elton Streeter, Marvin Hubert, Donald Hasser; Step-Brother-in-law, Willard Rote; Nephews, Mark Hasser, Alan Hasser, Phillip Hubert; Great-grandchild, Layton Michael Johnson.
A great appreciation to all family, friends, and neighbors who sent cards, flowers, and memorials. A heartfelt appreciation to Father George Schmit, Pastoral Administrators, Musicians, Lectors, The Council of Catholic Women, and all who assisted at the beautiful Mass. A sincere appreciation to the Prairie View Memory Care Team, Ecumen Home Care and Hospice Team, and Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel Team for all the tender loving care Joann received.
