John “Jack” D. Gersdorf, age 79, of Dassel, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Augustana Lakeside Community Home in Dassel.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017, 11:00 A.M., at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Obituary
John “Jack” D. Gersdorf was born on January 17, 1938, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of Anna (Beno) and Howard Gersdorf. Jack was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. He was a graduate of the Roosevelt High School Class of 1956.
On September 26, 1958, Jack was united in marriage to Marian Thor at Bethel Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. This marriage was blessed with four children, Carol, Susan, Diana, and Linda. Jack and Marian resided in Minneapolis after their marriage, and later moved to Hutchinson. They shared 59 years of marriage.
Jack was employed in sales and sold to the furniture industry. He retired in 2002. Jack was an active member of Nokomis Heights Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. After moving to Hutchinson, Jack became an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. He was also an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the Zuhrah Shrine. He was active in several Zuhrah units most notably ceremonial and the “Q”. In 2015, he was chaplain for Zuhrah.
Jack enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and he was a hobby train enthusiast. He also enjoyed boating, camping, and bird watching. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
Jack became a resident at Augustana Lakeside Community Home in Dassel on December 16, 2016. He passed away there on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the age of 79 years.

Great Granddaughter, Tatiana Santiago;
Cousin, Pat Castelucio of Dubuque, IA;
Sister-In-Law, Phyllis Price of Ocala, FL;
Many other relatives and friends.
Jack is preceded in death by his Parents, Anna and Howard Gersdorf; and Brother, Robert Gersdorf.
