Obituary
Joyce Helen Perrault was born January 21, 1932, in Gaylord, Minnesota, to Everil and Florine Reimer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. Joyce graduated with honors from Gaylord High School, class of 1950.
Joyce’s marriage to Donald Schilling was blessed with four daughters during their years in Gaylord. Later Joyce married Charles Perrault of Apple Valley. In later years Bill Ehlke of Arlington was her devoted, special friend.
In high school Joyce was involved in a variety of activities while also employed part-time as a telephone operator. In the 1960’s she started developing a career in journalism. What started as part-time teletypesetting for the Gaylord Hub evolved into positions at MGA Graphics and then Sun Newspapers in the Twin Cities. Just before retirement Joyce enjoyed working at the Apple Valley Police Department as a receptionist. She returned to the Gaylord-Arlington area in 2001 and in May, 2019 became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center. Joyce passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
Joyce was a loving, dedicated mother and a very talented homemaker. She especially enjoyed keeping her family supplied with baked goods and other “treats.” Music was always part of her life one way or another. But Joyce especially loved dancing and knew them all, whether it was the polka, cha-cha or line dances. Traveling throughout the U.S. and beyond always excited her, especially her first ever mother-daughter trip, with Mexico her goal to mark her 80th birthday with “her girls.” Most of all, Joyce cherished time with her family.
Joyce is survived by her:
Children, Bonnie Anderson, Sandra (Timothy) Hendrycks, Susan (David) Lick, and Kimberly (Anthony) Carpenter;
grandchildren, Marni (Gregg) Bollella, Seth (Laura) Anderson, Jacalyn (James) Neubarth, Jeanine (Lonnie) Bacon, Simon (Katie) Lick, Andrew Lick, Jamie (Matt) Giles, and Jared and Jacob Carpenter;
great-grandchildren: Joseph, Mia and Thomas Bollella, Erik, Luke and Ryan Anderson, Elizabeth and Andrew Adema, Hannah Neubarth, Emersyn and Madisyn Bacon, Leo, Henry and Charlie Lick, and Gianna Giles; and
brother, Edward (Linda) Reimer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Everil “Bobby” Reimer, husbands Donald Schilling and Charles Perrault, special friend Bill Ehlke, son-in-law Randal Anderson and great-granddaughter Cailyn Neubarth.
