Obituary

Judith “Judi” Ann Luehrs was born on November 22, 1943, in Watertown, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Norman and Marion (Tesch) Schwartz. Judi was baptized as an infant on January 2, 1944, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 15, 1957, both at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota.

Judi received her education in Lester Prairie and graduated from Lester Prairie High School with the Class of 1961. After graduation, Judi continued her education at the Minnesota School of Business completing a Medical Secretary course. Judi was united in marriage to Alan Luehrs on September 10, 1966, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Darin and Denise. The couple made their home in Lester Prairie for 50 years, and in 2014 Judi and Alan moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota to be closer to their family. Judi and Alan shared 55 years of marriage together.

Judi worked as a medical receptionist for Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson, Minnesota, retiring in 2010.

Judi was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. She enjoyed being a part of the church choir, the church bible study group, teaching Sunday school and found comfort in reading her devotional books daily. Her love of God and family were important parts of her life; her faith carried her through the toughest of times.

Judi enjoyed cross-stitching, gardening, singing, sewing, knitting, reading, and her yearly Christmas activities with Denise and Maren. She was very involved in her children's and grandchildren’s lives. She was a kind-hearted, welcoming person who always had her door open.

Blessed be her memory.

So sorry to hear of Judi’s passing. She was part of a great HMC work family for years and a lovely lady. I still see her with a book in her hand reading.
