Judith “Judy” Augusta Schiebel, age 70, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, in Chariton, Iowa.
Memorial Service will be held, Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 3:00 P.M., at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of friends and family will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are with the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Obituary
Judith “Judy” Augusta Schiebel was born on November 25, 1945, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Harlan Harrison and Opal Augusta (Shadle) Schiebel. Judy was baptized as an infant and confirmed as a youth at Vineyard Methodist Church in Hutchinson. In 1964, by confirmation of her faith, she became a member at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She received her education in Hutchinson, at Hutchinson High School and graduated with the Class of 1963.
In 1963, Judy was united in marriage to David Lee Jopp Sr. at Vineyard Methodist Church in Hutchinson. They made their home in Hutchinson and were blessed with two children, David Lee II and Michelle Opal. Later in life, Judy married Jerome Fischer. The family lived in Dassel, on Lake Erie and enjoyed creating many good memories with family and friends, fishing and swimming.
Judy was employed with the Hutchinson school district as an aid, working in the cafeteria and on the playground. Later in life, she was employed at the local alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers both in Hutchinson and Glencoe, working as a counselor. She was actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous and celebrated her sobriety, one day at a time, for 39 years.
Judy had a love for music; she especially enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley. She thoroughly enjoyed going to hear her son’s band play and spent many nights singing and dancing with her daughter at karaoke. Judy supported her children’s and grandchildren’s interest in music and theater. Over the years she had many collections including salt and pepper shakers, music boxes, Vaseline depression glass, dolls and beanie babies. Judy cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
Judy passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, in Chariton, Iowa, at the age of 70 years.

Sister, Marie Andres and her husband, Jerome of Delano, MN;
Brothers, Richard Schiebel of Hutchinson, MN,
Bill Schiebel and his wife, Elaine of Hutchinson, MN;
Godsons, Chris Johnson, Ryan Berghuis and Jameson Johnson
And, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Judy is preceded in death by her Parents, Harlan and Opal; Sisters, Ella Werner, Ginger Yerks, Betty Johnson; Brothers-In-Law, Earl Miller, Orlin Yerks, Myron Johnson.
