Service Information
Julanne Helena Brown age 86, of St. Peter formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 at the Benedictine Court in St. Peter.
Funeral Service will be Friday, March 4th, 2:00 P.M. at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Friday.
Obituary
Julanne Helena Brown was born on November 6, 1929, in Alfsborg Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Carl F. and Ruth (Kyrklund) Brown. Julanne was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop, Minnesota. She received her elementary education at District #46 in rural Alsborg Township, then attended Winthrop High School graduating in 1947.
Following her high school education she attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, earning a degree in Business Education. She taught business subjects at Welcome High School for two years, then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Library Science at the University of Minnesota.
Upon gaining her Library Science Degree, Julanne accepted the position of head librarian for the City of Omaha at the Willa Cather Library for children. Here she conducted story time, crafts, and helped children enhance their lives by developing a love for reading and books. She retired after 34 years of service.
In addition to her work, Julanne loved to travel, reading, especially mystery novels, country music, and collecting books, music, dolls and other collectibles.

Julanne is survived by relatives and friends.
Julanne was preceded in death by her Parents, Carl F. and Ruth Brown and Brother, Ellsworth Brown.
