Obituary

Cleola “June” Janiece Busse was born on September 25, 1937, in Cotton County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Edwin and Opal (McManomy) Reading. June was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education at Roswell Jr. High in New Mexico through grade 10.

On December 20, 1953, June was united in marriage to Jerome “Buzz” Busse in Roswell, New Mexico. This marriage was blessed with four children, Deborah, Anita, Jerry, and Connie. June and Buzz resided in Litchfield, Minnesota from 1954 until 1962, when they moved to Hutchinson. They shared 51 years of marriage until Buzz passed away on July 11, 2005.

Along with being a loving homemaker to her husband and children, June worked for Hutch Drug, Hutchinson High School, and was a cashier at Shopko for several years until she retired in 1984. June was a longtime member of Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.

June enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.  Her biscuits and gravy, sour cream raisin pie and banana pudding were just a few of her family’s favorites! She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening.   Some of her favorite past times with Buzz were playing bingo, taking trips to the casino, collecting antiques, and going to auctions. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

June became a resident at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson on August 31, 2016. She passed away there on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at the age of 80 years, surrounded by her family.

Great Grandchildren: Ben Sadowski, Jack Sadowski, Paige Sadowski, and Taliah Smith, Shale Menssen, Ella Williams, Eva Williams, Gabriel Williams, Jack Linden, Nora Linden, Adalynn Busse;
Siblings: Patricia Carrasco and her husband, Saul, of Corrals, NM,
                 Charles Reading and his wife, Linda, of Hutchinson, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

June is preceded in death by her: Husband, Jerome Busse; Parents, Edwin and Opal Reading; Brothers, Jimmy Reading and Billy Joe Davidson; and Sisters, Kay Brown and Francis Jones.
