Karl Jerome Monroe

Obituary

Karl Jerome Monroe was born on September 9, 1967, in St. Paul, Minnesota.  He was the son of Richard and Karen (Grund) Monroe.  Karl was baptized as an infant on October 22, 1967, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rosemount, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 5, 1982, by Father William Bullock at Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America, Minnesota.  He received his education in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, attending Central High School. 

On September 17, 1994, Karl was united in marriage to Tab Kowalke at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne, Minnesota.  Karl and Tab made their home in Green Isle, Minnesota.  Their marriage was blessed with two children, Brittney and Dalton.  Karl and Tab shared over 21 years of marriage.

Karl loved driving semi and being in his Peterbilt, seat to the ground, cruising down the open road.  He was a member of Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America.

Karl enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, driving his Harley and playing with his tractor.  He loved the time spent with his friends and family, especially his children. 

Karl passed away after a two year battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at his home in Green Isle, Minnesota, at the age of 48 years, 2 months and 16 days.
