Kathleen M. Nordine

Obituary

Kathleen Mary Nordine was born on January 30, 1951, in Gaylord, Minnesota and spent her younger years in Winthrop, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ervil and Hildegard (Borchert) Hopp. Kathleen was a graduate of Bird Island High School.

On November 26, 1976, Kathleen was united in marriage to Russell Nordine at First Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Chantel. They resided in Cosmos. Kathleen and Russell shared 47 years of marriage prior to the passing of Russell on September 10, 2023.

Kathleen provided wonderful care and kindness for over 30 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Cosmos Nursing Home and the Lake Lillian Assisted Living. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos.

Kathleen cherished spending time with her grandsons who were the “light of her life”. Kathleen enjoyed and was skilled at sewing, cross stitch, baking, and cooking. Kathleen’s loved ones will remember that she always put the needs of others before herself.

Kathleen passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at her daughter’s home in rural Lake Lillian, Minnesota, at the age of 73 years.

Dawn McNeil and her husband, Keith;
And Many Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends that loved her.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her Parents, Ervil and Hildegard Hopp; Husband, Russell Nordine; Brother, Dale Hopp.
