Kathryn Wendlandt

Obituary

Kathryn Mayme Wendlandt was born on February 26, 1932, in Brownton, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Albin and Mayme (Busta) Peterson. Kathryn was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Brownton. She later transferred her letter of faith to Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She received her education in Stewart, Minnesota.

Kathryn was blessed with six children, Ronald, Gerrine, Brenda, Julie, Donald, and Karla. She resided in Hutchinson and later moved to Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.

Kathryn was employed in manufacturing at Tonka Toys and catering at a variety of places. She also enjoyed volunteering with caterers. She retired in 1985. Kathryn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hutchinson.

Kathryn loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a love and passion for cooking, baking, canning, and doing crafts. She also enjoyed going on trips to a resort in Detroit Lakes with family. During her stay at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care, she discovered a new love for painting and playing bingo.

When Kathryn needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care on June 18, 2015. Kathryn went home to be with her Lord peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the age of 85 years.

8 Grandchildren, Troy (Jonnie) Forcier, Nicholas (Rachel) Krueger, Mark Wendlandt, Travis (Sherri) Forcier, Dr. Cody Wendlandt, Dr. Kati (Luke) Klitzke, Matthew Kitterman, and Sarah (Kirk) Byers;
6 Great-Grandchildren, Emma Forcier, Henry Forcier, Rhyann Krueger, Alexis Wendlandt, Carson Klitzke, and Calla Klitzke;
Nieces, Nephews, In-Laws, and many other relatives and friends.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her Parents, Albin and Mayme Peterson; Brothers, Dr. Kenneth Peterson and his wife, Gladys (Dolly), and Norman Peterson and his wife, Lola; Grandchild, Bradley Wendlandt; Nephew, Larry Peterson; and Niece, Theresa Peterson.
