Kenneth E. Rosin

Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Rosin was born on May 30, 1931, in Lien Township, Grant County, Minnesota. He was the son of Clarence and Elsie (Muetz) Rosin. Kenneth was baptized as an infant in May of 1931, at the Lutheran Church in Boyd, Minnesota, by Reverend Louis Rosin, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on November 6, 1945, by Reverend Walter Lorenz. He received his elementary education at Grant County School and was a graduate of Barrett High School. He furthered his education as a First Responder and in Law Enforcement.

On July 19, 1958, Kenneth was united in marriage to Barbara Weibel at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Winsted. After their marriage, the couple resided in Winsted, Litchfield and Gaylord. Kenneth was employed as a Meeker County Sheriff’s Deputy and then as a Gaylord Police Officer before retiring as Police Chief, in 1991. Kenneth and Barbara were blessed with six children. They shared 59 years of marriage.

On July 22, 1953, Kenneth entered active military service and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Private First Class.  He was Honorably Discharged on May 23, 1955.

Kenneth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord.

Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, camping, Polka dancing and gardening. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

When he needed assistance with his daily care, Kenneth became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia. He passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017, in Waconia at the age of 86 years. Blessed be his memory.

10 Great-Grandchildren;
Siblings, Virgil Rosin and his wife, Kathleen, Lois Fagerberg, Delores Johnson, Ellerd Rosin and his wife, Janice, Marlys Swetberg, Gerhard Rosin and his wife, Jan, Marilyn Gatz and her husband, Paul, Eunice Weibolt, Kathryn Schmeig and her husband, William, and Donald Rosin;
Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his Parents, Clarence and Elsie Rosin; Brothers, Orvin Rosin and Leonard Rosin.
