Kenneth “Ken” Farrell, age 80, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 10:30 A.M. at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe with private family interment in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe and will continue on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., at the Johnson- McBride Funeral Chapel.
Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will be Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 6:30 P.M. at the Johnson McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, with a prayer service following.
Obituary
Kenneth “Ken” Joseph Farrell was born on December 14, 1940, in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Leonard and Alice (Moore) Farrell. He was baptized and later confirmed in his faith, both at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Le Sueur County. Ken attended school in Belle Plaine, Minnesota, and graduated with the Belle Plaine High School Class of 1958. He furthered his education at Mankato State University in Mankato.
On July 20, 1958, Ken entered active military service and served his country in the United States Army. He achieved the rank Specialist 4th Class. He was Honorably Discharged on December 17, 1965, from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Ken was united in marriage to Margaret Muelken on June 8, 1963, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Prior Lake, Minnesota Their marriage was blessed with four boys, Todd, Timothy, Ted and Troy. They shared over 58 years of marriage.
Ken worked at Telex in Glencoe for 41 years as Quality Assurance Manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, tinkering in the garage and woodworking projects. Ken enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends. Ken was a member of the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota, the Glencoe Knights of Columbus Council 4842 & 4th Degree Knight with the Arch Bishop Assembly in Bird Island, the Glencoe American Legion Post 95 and the Glencoe Lions.
