Kenneth Olderness, age 81, of Delano, Minnesota formerly of Silver Lake, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at The Estates at Delano in Delano.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 13, 2017, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Kenneth Ira Olderness was born on October 23, 1935, in Oakes, North Dakota. He was the son of Lloyd and Elida (Nelson) Olderness. Kenneth was baptized as an infant at and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at Grace Lutheran Church in Oakes, North Dakota. He received his education in Oakes, and was a graduate of the Oakes High School Class of 1954.
Kenneth entered active military service in the United Stated Army. He served his country and achieved the rank of SP4.
On December 5, 1969, Kenneth was united in marriage to Janet Litchfield at Grace Lutheran Church in Oakes. This marriage was blessed with four children, William, Tracy, Corey, and John. Kenneth and Janet resided in Oakes, North Dakota until 1987 when they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Eventually settling in Silver Lake, Minnesota, in 2008. They shared 43 years of marriage together until Janet passed away on February 28, 2013.
Kenneth worked as a carpenter at Olderness Construction in Oakes, then BT&A Construction in St. Paul. He retired in 2000.
Kenneth was a member of Grace Bible Church of Silver Lake, Minnesota.
Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the television, and being on the computer. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Kenneth passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at The Estates at Delano in Delano, Minnesota, at the age of 81 years.

Leon Olderness and his wife, Jeanette of Hayden, ID;
Sister-In-Law, Vesta Olderness of Oakes, ND;
Many other relatives and friends.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his Parents, Lloyd and Elida Olderness; Wife, Janet Olderness; Son, John Olderness, in infancy; Sisters, Luella Patience and Doris Frojen and her husband, Lloyd; and Brother, Orville Olderness.
