Kenneth "Kenny" W. Holler, age 80, of Winthrop, passed away, Friday, August 16, 2024, at his home at The Lodge in Winthrop.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 27, 2024, 2:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Obituary
Kenneth Wayne Holler was born in Park Rapids, MN, on October 15, 1943. He was baptized into the Christian faith at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Badoura, MN, on October 31, 1943. He was confirmed in his faith at Highlands Lutheran Church in Langford, S.D. in 1956.
When Ken was two years old, his family moved to eastern South Dakota, where he lived on the family farm near Britton and Langford, S.D. He attended country school near Eden, S.D. and high school in Britton, where he played football, base ball and ran track. He graduated with the class of 1961. He then attended Northern State College in Aberdeen, S.D., where he also played football. He majored in secondary education and coaching, graduating in 1965.
Ken worked as a salesman, training manager and general manager for Tewele Seeds, Harvestore silos and Classic Roadsters kit cars. He then worked raising sunken concrete for Uretek USA and Lift-Tech in Texas. In 2005, Ken retired and moved to Hutchinson. Here, he worked part-time for Lutheran Social Services delivering meals to various community centers.
Ken was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He cared for the church’s lawns, helped with the annual fish fry, rummage sale and meatball supper for several years. He also served on a ministry team and the church council, and as an usher for worship services.
Ken enjoyed golfing and fishing, riding his bicycle, making wooden yard ornaments and farming part-time. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, Timberwolves and Wild. He noted that his favorite actor was John Wayne and his favorite actress was Katherine Ross.
Kenneth Wayne Holler died on Friday, August 16, 2024, at his residence in Winthrop, MN. May God sanctify the memories of all who mourn.
