Obituary
Kris Steven Peichel was born on December 30, 1960, in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. He was the son of Roger and Kathleen (Ferrin) Peichel. Kris received his education in Fairfax, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Fairfax High School Class of 1979. He furthered his education at North Dakota State University for one year.
On July 19, 1980, Kris was united in marriage to Diane Totman. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Bryce and Mitchell. Kris farmed in the Fairfax area until he sold the farm. He then moved to Fargo, North Dakota, where he owned Viking Home Improvement. He then became the superintendent for building Hilton Hotels. The last years, Kris was an insurance adjuster with Allstate.
Kris enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, cooking, and watching comedy movies. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and always had long conversations with his sports expert brother-in-law. Kris had an infectious smile. His joy came from making friends and family, even strangers, happy. He was the kind of person who would spend his Christmas handing out food at a homeless shelter.
Kris was always excited to spend time with his Grandson and family. He had such a special relationship with his niece, Jessie. She just loved her Uncle Kris. Kris came late into his spiritual faith. His mother greatly influenced his walk with the Lord. He believed and taught “by grace you have been saved through faith”. Kris officiated his niece’s wedding in June of 2019 and began counseling young people in the Christian faith. For the last ten years, Kris had been faithfully waiting for God to show him his path. God’s timing is not our timing and took Kris home to be with his mother and father.
Kris passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020, at his home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 59 years. Blessed be his memory.
