Obituary

Kurtiss “Kurt” Dale Erickson was born on June 26, 1957, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He was the son of Kenneth and Jean (Cleaveland) Erickson. Kurt was baptized as an infant on September 8, 1957.  He received his education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1975.

Kurt grew up in Hutchinson and later moved to the Twin Cities in 1978. In 1979, Kurt married Kristine Collins and they were blessed with three children, Joshua, Katie, and Maranda.

Kurt worked various jobs through the years but landed his favorite job at The Blake School where he enjoyed attending and cheering on the students. He worked at The Blake School for over a decade in the maintenance department and retired in 2014.

Kurt enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing card games, and watching sports. Kurt also enjoyed going to his grandsons’ basketball games. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandsons and friends.

Kurt passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, at the age of 60 years.

Nephew, Bob Soppeland of Eagan, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

Kurt is preceded in death by his Father, Kenneth Erickson; Grandparents, Alberta and Orville Cleaveland and Hjalmer and Gertrude Erickson; and Aunt, Berta Hachey.
