Larry Alen Klitzke, age 67, of rural Hutchinson, Husband of Linda Klitzke, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota.
Memorial Services will be Friday, May 5, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Dobratz Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Larry Alen Klitzke was born on June 20, 1949, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Rufus and Evangeline (Zieman) Klitzke. Larry was baptized as an infant on July 17, 1949, and was later confirmed in his faith on June 2, 1963, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. He received his education in Brownton, and was a graduate of the Brownton High School Class of 1967. Larry furthered his education attending Ridgewater College and graduated with honors in 1996 with a degree in Tool & Die.
Larry entered the Army National Guard and served his country. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1974 as a Specialist 4.
On November 13, 1971, Larry was united in marriage to Linda Redmann at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. This marriage was blessed with 2 children, Jamie and Jodie. Larry and Linda resided in rural Hutchinson on the West side of Lake Marion. They shared 46 years of marriage together.
Larry held long term employment at several places. Johnson Motors in Glencoe, Minnesota for 18 years, Hutchinson Technology Inc. for 12 years and Goebel Fixtures for 12 years. He retired in December 2015.
Larry was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton and was also a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Larry lived a laid back and simple life, but he knew how to have fun. He enjoyed woodworking, sitting by the bonfire, ice fishing with friends, boating, mowing his lawn with his prized John Deere and giving everyone “Larry’s Words of Wisdom”. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Larry was diagnosed with cancer in June 2016, and became a resident of St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted on April 4, 2017, where he passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the age of 67 years.
He will be dearly missed. Blessed be his memory.

Larry is preceded in death by his: Parents, Rufus and Evangeline Klitzke, Brother, Harlen Klitzke; Sister-In-Law, Mavis Klitzke; Grandparents, Ed and Esther Ziemen and William and Emma Klitzke; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Peter and Ella Redmann; Brothers-In-Law, Melvin Albrecht, Eddie Altman and Kevin Redmann.
