Larry Conklin age 70, of Winthrop, passed away Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 after a short battle with cancer, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
No services will be held.
Obituary
Larry Wayne Conklin was born on November, 13, 1945, in Freeborn, Minnesota. He was the son of Lawrence and Shirley (Bice) Conklin. Larry was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He was a graduate of Freeborn High School. He furthered his education at Mankato State University.
Larry entered active military service on March 1, 1966, and served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Larry was Honorably Discharged on November 11, 1971.
In 1971, Larry was united in marriage to Barb Clark. The couple resided in Winthrop. This union was blessed with three sons. They shared 44 years of marriage.
Larry joined his parents at Conklin Auto Inc. and in the 90’s he took over the business until he sold it in 2004.
Larry had many interests, from restoring and showing Mopar muscle cars, collecting Arctic Cat memorabilia, and building things on his acreage. After retiring he took up gardening, gourmet cooking, wine making and spending a lot of time E-Baying. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchild.
Larry passed away April 2, 2016 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a short battle with Cancer. He will be greatly missed.

Wife, Barb Conklin of Winthrop, MN;
Children, Blaine Conklin of Minneapolis, MN,
Brody Conklin of New Ulm, MN;
Grandchild, Liam Conklin;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his Son, Bryan Conklin; Parents, Lawrence and Shirley Conklin.
