Laura Bach

Obituary

Laura Alvera Bach was born on September 14, 1913, in Cosmos Township, Meeker County, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of Karl and Clara (Beske) Laffin.  Laura was baptized as an infant on October 19, 1913, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield, Township, Renville County, Minnesota, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on August 21, 1927, at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota.  Laura received her education at country school in her home area.

On October 25, 1933, Laura was united in marriage to Reinhardt Radtke. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Eunice and foster son, James Johnstone.   Laura and Reinhardt resided in the Cedar Mills, Minnesota area.  They shared 28 years of marriage, until Reinhardt passed away in 1961.

On August 15, 1963, Laura was united in marriage to Harvey Bach at St. John’s Parsonage in Cedar Mills Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. Harvey and Laura resided in Hutchinson. They shared 41 years of marriage until Harvey passed away on May 9, 2005. 

Laura was a loving homemaker, mother, and grandmother.   She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills, Minnesota, where she served with the Ladies Aid group for many years.

Laura enjoyed crocheting, baking and gardening.   She also enjoyed working on puzzles, traveling and spending time at the cabin on Lake Minnie Belle in Meeker County, Minnesota. Laura especially enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

When Laura needed assistance in her daily care, she became a resident of the Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson in September of 2012.  She passed away there on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the age of 103 years.
