Service Information
Laura Kiecker, age 85, of Fairfax passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral Service will be Friday, October 21, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Fairfax with interment in Augustana Lutheran Cemetery in Gibbon.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Arrangements are with the Hauser-Hantge Chapel in Fairfax.
Obituary
Laura Mae Kiecker was born on August 3, 1937, in Franklin, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Raymond and Viola (Sherman) Wise. Laura was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her Lutheran faith as a youth. She received her education at country school near Franklin, Hector and Gibbon.
On November 2, 1955, Laura was united in marriage to Jerome “Jerry” Kiecker at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple resided in Fairfax. Laura and Jerry were blessed with two children. She was employed as a secretary for the Fairfax Public School and then the GFW Middle School in Fairfax. She was a loving mother and homemaker. They shared 55 years of marriage when Jerry passed away on September 12, 2010.
Laura was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Fairfax.
Laura enjoyed reading, drawing, sewing, gardening, and fishing. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Laura passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 85 years. Blessed be her memory.
Laura is survived by her:
Children, Deborah Johnson and her husband, Kevin of Fairfax, MN, and
Sherrie Hertling and her husband, Jay of North Mankato, MN;
Grandchildren, Jeremy and Talia Larson of Lafayette, MN, Jenny Larson and Dan Falk of Morgan;
Great grandchildren, Brittany Falk, Becky Falk, Veronica Howell, Kailey Larson, Paisley Larson;
Great great grandchildren, Waylon Stage;
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Laura was preceded in death by her Husband, Jerome Kiecker; Parents, Raymond and Viola Wise; Brother, Earl Wise; Nephew, Steve Wise; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Walter and Loretta (Prokosch) Kiecker; Brother and Sister-in-law, Ruben and Doris (Sellner) Kiecker.
