Lawrence “Larry” Krebs, age 69, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, January 11th, 2017, at his home in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be Monday, January 16th, 2017, 2:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Gathering of friends and family will be Monday, January 16th, 2017, from noon until the time of service at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Military Honors will be provided by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.
Obituary
Lawrence “Larry” Krebs was born on February 16, 1947, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was the son of Rudolph and Armella (Etten) Krebs. Larry was baptized as an infant at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and was confirmed in his faith as a youth at St. Mary’s Church in Alexandria, Minnesota. He received his education in Alexandria, and was a graduate of the Jefferson Senior High School Class of 1965. Larry furthered his education at the University of Minnesota, Morris in Morris, Minnesota.
Larry entered active military service in the U.S. Military on March 6, 1967 and served his country during the Vietnam War, stationed in Korea. He received an Honorable Discharge on February 7, 1970, and achieved the rank of Specialist E-5.
On October 14, 1972, Larry was united in marriage to Marian (Brey) Krebs at the Cathedral of Holy Trinity Church in New Ulm, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Jessica and Tom. Larry and Marian resided in Albert Lea, Minnesota, until they moved to Hutchinson in 1973. They shared 45 years of marriage.
Larry held employment at Robert Hall Clothing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Herberger’s Department Stores in New Ulm and Albert Lea, Mr. Reed’s in Hutchinson, Country Gentlemen in Hutchinson, and in June of 1982 he started working at Salkin and Linoff, Incorporated in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He later held employment at Party Place in Minneapolis, Elks Lodge in Hutchinson, and retired from 3M in 2007.
Larry was on the Board of Directors for three years at the Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors for 10 years and President for two years for the Plaza 15 Merchants Association, Board of Directors for three years at the Crow River Country Club, on the Committee for 12 years and Chairman for two years for the Hutchinson Chapter Ducks Unlimited, Board of Directors for two years and committee for four years for the Hutchinson Chapter Pheasants Forever. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #2427, American Legion Post #96, and past member of the Minnesota Jaycees.
Larry enjoyed antiques, attending auctions, and hunting for ducks, deer, and pheasants. He used to enjoy playing golf, and loved to watch hockey. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
Larry passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his home in Hutchinson, at the age of 69 years. Blessed be his memory.

Siblings, Kristine McAdams of Roseburg, OR,
Kathleen Pluth and her husband Edward of Delano, MN;
God-Children, Michelle Curley of St. Francis, MN, and Lance Brey of Raymond, MN;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Armella (Etten) Krebs and brother, Jerry R. Krebs.
The family invites everyone to the luncheon at the funeral home immediately following the service.

I remember Larry from Alexandria and early years and from Hutch, especially when he worked at Mr Reeds.
He always had a twinkle in his eye and loved to see him laugh. RIP Larry!
