Lena Laura Sell

Obituary

Lena Laura (Behrmann) Sell was born on April 20, 1913, in Round Grove Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ernest and Lydia (Bauermeister) Behrmann. Lena was baptized as an infant on May 4, 1913, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 10, 1927, both at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Fernando, Minnesota.  Her baptism verse was Mark16:16.  Lena received her education through grade 8 in Round Grove Township.

On June 12, 1946, Lena was united in marriage to Ervin Sell at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Fernando, Minnesota. Lena and Ervin made their home on a farm in Fernando.  In 1973, they moved to Stewart, Minnesota.  Lena and Ervin shared 29 years of marriage together until Ervin passed away on November 26, 1975.  In July of 2001, Lena moved to Hutchinson and lived at Prince of Peace until September of 2012 when she moved to Harmony River.

In addition to being a loving wife and homemaker, Lena helped Ervin on their farm.  She was a lifelong member at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Fernando.

Lena enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering, cooking, gardening, playing bingo, reading and playing cards with friends.  She loved dancing and listening to polka music.  Lena also enjoyed traveling, especially to California.  She treasured the time spent with her family and friends.

Lena passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 104 years.

Nieces, Nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Lena is preceded in death by her Parents, Ernest and Lydia Behrmann; Husband, Ervin Sell; Special Friend, Otto Streseman; Sisters, Irene Domeier and Phyllis Brede.
