Service Information
Lila Jaskowiak, age 86, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017, 2:00 P.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota. Visitation will continue Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Lila Lena (Stuedemann) Jaskowiak was born on August 20, 1930, in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the daughter of George and Augusta (Meier) Stuedemann. Lila was baptized as an infant on September 14, 1930, by Rev. Dysterheft at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Glencoe, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 2, 1944, at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo, Minnesota. She received her education in Echo, Minnesota.
In 1951, Lila was united in marriage to Lloyd Nemitz, who later died in a car accident. Then on May 14, 1958, Lila was united in marriage to Simon Jaskowiak by Rev. A.H., Fellwock at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Her life was blessed with seven children, Michael, Kevin, Douglas, DuWayne, Gary, Joyce and Diane. Lila made her home in Glencoe and Lester Prairie, Minnesota. In 2012, when Lila needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Grand Meadows in Glencoe and then lived with her daughter, Joyce, and her husband, Scott.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Lila worked at Hands in Hutchinson, Nature Fresh and Green Giant in Glencoe. She was also a waitress at area restaurants and always greeted her customers with a smile. Lila was a member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, where she served on the Ladies Aid.
Lila enjoyed gardening, puzzles, word finds, playing cards, knitting, fishing and shooting pool. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Lila passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 6 days.

32 Great Grandchildren;

Lila is preceded in death by her Parents, George and Augusta Stuedemann; Husbands, Lloyd Nemitz, Simon Jaskowiak; Brother, Orville Stuedemann and his 1st wife, Beverly; Brothers-In-Law & Sisters-In-Law, Edmund Jaskowiak and his wife, Sharon, Pauline McClary and her husband, Mel, Martha Brown and her husband, Marvin, Blanche Quast and her husband, Oscar, Clara Laxen and her husband, Leonard.
