Lois Elizabeth Dahlke

Obituary

Lois Elizabeth Dahlke was born on March 28, 1942, in Arlington, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Clarence and Erna (Panning) Wacker. Lois was baptized as an infant on April 5, 1942, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 25, 1956, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington, Minnesota. She received her education in Arlington and was a graduate of the Arlington-Green Isle High School Class of 1960.

On May 4, 1962, Lois was united in marriage to Melvin Dahlke at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington. After their marriage, the couple resided in rural Arlington, Minnesota. Lois and Melvin were blessed with two children, Cheryl and Michael. The couple shared 61 years of marriage.

Lois was a loving mother and homemaker. She assisted Melvin on the day-to-day farm tasks as well. Throughout those years, Lois also worked at  Fingerhut in Gaylord, Minnesota, and at the Glencoe High School Cafeteria in Glencoe, Minnesota. Lois was a faithful member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn. She was a Sunday School teacher and the chairperson and co-president of WELCA for 40 years, stepping down from that role in January of 2023. Lois was also a member of the New Auburn Lions for 30+ years, serving as the secretary for many of those years.

Lois enjoyed her time in the kitchen, cooking and baking. Spending time with family and friends was what she truly cherished most.

Lois passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia at the age of 81. Blessed be her memory.
