Obituary
Lois Lynn Polzin was born on May 6, 1948, in Cokato, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Esther (Berg) Lundeen. Lois was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato. She received her education in Cokato, and was a graduate of the Cokato High School Class of 1966. Lois furthered her education through nurses training.
Lois was united in marriage to Gerald “Gerry” Polzin at their home in rural Cokato on August 13, 1977. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Chris and Travis. They shared 47 years of marriage.
Lois and Gerry worked hand in hand on the farm for the last 48 years together working cattle and farming. They enjoyed attending cattle shows and tours together where they could catch up with old friends.
Lois was a devoted 4-H leader for the Knapp Busy Bee’s while the boys were in 4-H. She loved her family and grandchildren and could always be found telling stories about them to anyone who would listen. Although Lois was not always able to attend her grandchildren’s events, she did her best. If unable to make it, she would be patiently waiting by the phone to hear an update on how the event had gone. Lois made her grandkids feel like they were the ultimate of importance to her. When on the road we all knew that when we reached our destination a phone call was needed to let her know, you had made it back home for the night or where you were staying for the night. The atlas was always on the table ready to follow the adventure you were on. We will continue to find ourselves trying to make that phone call to hear her voice, but we know she will be watching over all of us and know where we are.
Lois was an amazing cook and baker, and she always had a crock pot or cake pan in hand for any special gathering or occasion. Her kindness always radiated onto anyone around her. She could easily brighten anyone’s day. Lois had a beautiful soul that will forever be with anyone that had the chance to know her.
Lois was an amazingly caring and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma and friend. Her calendar held many dates for birthdays and anniversaries, and she was always known to have a card in the mailbox to arrive on that given occasion. Always hoping that the post office followed her anticipated timeline. Lois had a knack for having just the right card for you and it made you wonder how many countless hours she spent in front of the card racks to find that particular card.
Lois passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, at the age of 76 years.
Blessed be her memory.

Gerry,
Sorry for your loss. I remember the good old days when you worked for uncle Bill and you helped with the roster pigs. I also remember going to Minneapolis to visit Lois a few times. I’m leaving for Florida next week for the winter but I will get up to see you next summer.
