Lois Ruth Engelmann

Obituary

Lois Ruth (Bentz) Engelmann was born on August 1, 1931, in Mora, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of Herman and Mary (Weller) Bentz.  Lois was baptized as an infant on August 23, 1931, by Pastor H. F. Jaus in Mora, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 25, 1945, by Pastor W. L. Stellwagon at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was Matthew 10:32.  Lois received her education at Mound High School in Mound, Minnesota, graduating with the class of 1949.

On May 22, 1954, Lois was united in marriage to Raymond Engelmann by Pastor L. F. Klug at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, Minnesota.  Lois and Raymond made their home in Plato, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children, Donald, Randall, Robert, Kathleen and Debra. Lois and Raymond shared over 36 years of marriage together, until Raymond passed away on March 9, 1990.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Lois was a homemaker.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato, Minnesota.

Lois enjoyed singing, gardening, flowers, poetry, reading books and the Bible.  She cherished the time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Lois passed away on, Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 85 years and 8 months.

Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and many friends.
