Loren Thomas Kiecker was born on July 16, 1953, in New Ulm, Minnesota. He weighed 7# 13-1/2 oz. and was 20 inches long. He was the son of Friedrich Jr. and Irene (Briese) Kiecker. Loren was baptized as an infant on August 13, 1953, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Wellington Township, Fairfax, Minnesota, by Pastor G. F. Zimmerman. His sponsors were Harvey and Elvira Grams. He was later confirmed in his faith on June 19, 1978, by Pastor V. Starbuck.
As a youngster, Loren attended school in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, where he learned his skills of reading, writing, and counting. Loren enjoyed going to school and meeting new friends. Later he participated in the ACTS (Adult Client Training Services) program in Olivia, Minnesota. Most recently he attended MRCI Adult Day Program in New Ulm, where he worked and participated in fun activities. He later retired into the EASE Program. Loren had many hobbies. He loved writing lists, letters, and cards. He enjoyed coloring fuzzy posters and pictures, playing games with his family and friends especially BINGO (for the prizes). Parties and holidays were a big deal for Loren, namely Christmas and his birthday. He loved to visit, laugh, dance, exercise, and listen to Old Time and Country music. He was a friendly guy! Dear Kiecker family,
I’d like to express my condolence and deep regrets for your loss and share where I found help at such a time as this when I lost my entire family to this enemy death.
I found comfort and hope in what I read in Jehovah Gods word the Bible at John5:28,29 for there we’re told we’ll see our love ones again at the resurrection when Jesus brings them back here on earth and we’re also told at ICorinthians15:54 that this enemy death will be gone forever. Because of these scriptures and jw.org I’m able to cope with my loss and get through each day because now I know I’ll see my love ones again and so can you. I wanted to share this with you now when hope and comfort is needed hoping that this will help you also for this is my purpose in sharing this with you at this time and please know that I do share your grief and hope you’ll feel free to let me know if this helped in some way. I hope to hear from you. Sincerely, GM

Dear Kiecker Family. I’ve known Loren for 17 years when I started staffing at MRCI New Ulm. I have so many fond memories. We would talk for hours about TV shows, which he was very knowledgeable of. We would “boot scoot” and boogie every chance we got. I will truly miss my little buddy. The world has lost a sweet spot. My sincere condolences.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Loren!
I had the privilege of working with him for many years at the group homes. Loren always had a smile for us, and never gave us any problems (unless we ran out of yogurt!) He was a joy to work with and will be missed! I know he was one of the reasons why I love my job and helping special people like him!
Thoughts and prayers to you all!

Loren will be missed by all of us, but never forgotten. He came into this world and there he lived to teach us how to care. This he achieved in Spades! Thank You, Loren! A donation has been made to the Confidence Learning Center (campconfidence.com) in memory of Loren.
